If you love delicious, local craft beer than chances are you've been to Ragged Island Brewing Company out in Portsmouth. We caught up with friend, former rugby player and co-owner Matthew Gray and chatted about how Covid-19 has affected their business, how they're learning to adapt and their plans for the remainder of the year.
Ragged Island Brewing Company was established in 2016 by good friends that had a shared passion for craft beer, the outdoors, and entrepreneurship. In March of 2017 they opened their doors as a 1 barrel brewery and quickly upgraded to a 3.5 barrel system by July of 2017. In 2020 they plan to move out of the Portsmouth Industrial Park and over to their farm at 54 Bristol Ferry Road. This former nursery property will provide an amazing home for Ragged Island and will allow them to offer farm to table beer by growing hops and other ingredients on-site.
If you're looking for plans this weekend be sure to head over to their new outdoor space at the Brewery. They're serving up fresh brews and tasty treats from McGrath Clambakes. Details can be found on Ragged's Facebook page or at raggedislandbrewing.com. 🥊
